The National Popular Vote & Reforming the Electoral College

The electoral college is a scourge on American democracy. In Making Every Vote Count’s blog, we explore the problems with the electoral college’s current winner-take-all system. Follow the blog to learn how the electoral college undermines both the fairness of presidential elections and how it has created perverse incentives against good governance. The existing system negatively affects all Americans in a myriad of ways, which the MEVC popular vote blog treats in depth. And we keep you up-to-date on the national progress being made to forge a viable solution:

MEVC believes that it is imperative for our state legislators to support the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Passage of the Compact would effectively ensure that the winner of the national popular vote—the winner of the most votes nationwide—always becomes the president of the United States. The issue could not be more urgent; preservation of constitutional order and the American democratic way of life depend upon its success.

Let’s make every vote count now.
